I wanted to introduce myself as an artisan!

My name is Tom and I've been woodworking for about 9 years now.  I'm a current college student working toward my Bachelor's degree at Northern Illinois University. I learned most of my skills during high school where our local high school is ranked within the top 5 best woodworking programs in the US. I started selling custom furniture and shaving brushes locally to help pay for all my gas that I go through commuting to school 4 times a week.

I will be using this thread for any updates in my shop and with photos of my work. I generally use exotic woods simply because of how gorgeous they are. I do use domestic woods as well from time to time when I'm trying a new design out and don't want to mess up a nice piece of Zebrawood or Ebony.

Thank you and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Tom

My website is where you will find all my in stock brushes for sale.

Hi Tom:

Welcome aboard!

Two questions:

1.  Website?  I'm guessing not or at least not yet.

2.  Do you have any Belizean woods?

I'm currently working on a website and will hopefully have one up here soon!

By Belizean woods, are you referring to Rosewoods?

Tom

Rosewoods would be great but any wood from Belize would make me happy.

The only Rosewood I have is East Indian Rosewood. Sorry. It is a beautiful wood though.

Thank you!

Zebrawood is absolutely stunning wood when turned into a handle!  Easily my favorite species to use.

I wanted a simple design to not distract from the beautiful wood grain.

Thank you Phil!

I live in the western burbs in Oswego.  If you've ever seen the film Wayne's World, they're in Aurora Illinois, which is the town right next to me.

Tom, quit fooling around and get busy fulfilling my order!   Biggrin

Seriously, congrats on the website.  I just ordered up the Zebrawood brush as well as a 1961 Gillette Aristocrat.

Look forward to seeing them in person!
