One or two shaves is enough to make my razor look gross with soap scum, so ideally, I would be cleaning with Scrubbing Bubbles after each blade change. (3 or 4 shaves.) I'm too lazy to keep up with that, however, so I often go through two or three blade changes before I will clean my razor. Is this normal? I would assume that some people clean obsessively, and some people just don't care at all, but it does seem like a lot of work to keep a razor looking decent. How often do you typically clean your razor?

Every shave I take it apart, rinse, and dry. Including the blade.

Wrinse and wipe after each use. Actual scrub, Barbacide soak, and Polish if needed roughly every 2 weeks.

After every shave with every razor I own I rinse and wipe dry. Blade as well. So I guess every shave. My razors never really get dirty this way.

If I have to crouch on the counter and power lift while twisting to break it free it's time.

I suddenly picture the dollar shave club commercial where the old cartridge runs up the mirror and hisses at the people before getting swatted.

+1 Same for me. I'm a bit of an obsessive, so I simply can't imagine cleaning a razor less frequently than after each use.

Most every shave, Depending on the model it maybe less often but the blade does come out and then a quick pass with a soft toothbrush and a good wipe-down of the razor..
Use is the best polish for any razor and cleanliness makes that possible.

Every few weeks when I change a blade I spray it with scrubbing bubbles, let it soak, then rinse it.

Signs011, plus, every few weeks/months I will use an older toothbrush and mild soap to give it a good scrub if I see enough calcification build-up.

I just can't see myself adding 5 minutes to the daily routine, to spray my razor parts down with foaming cleaner, let them sit, rinse them, and wipe dry.

I rinse and wipe down after every shave then take a soft tooth brush to it once a week when I change the blade.

Can't imagine not cleaning my Toggle after every shave.  I don't give crud or deposits time to build up anywhere.  All it takes is a quick rinse and towel dry, maybe 60 seconds.  If you like your razor and the shave you get with it, clean it after every shave.  Rinsing and drying the blade before putting it back in makes it last longer too.

Erm.  That’s not what Skinny Rogers wrote that he does.

He takes the same sensible route that yr obdnt srvnt takes:  At the end of a shave, he simply disassembles, rinses, and dries (on a towel) the three pieces of the razor and the fourth piece of the blade.  That takes somewhat over one minute, two minutes max.  No foaming cleaner, no letting the pieces sit.  Just rinse and dry.
