yNever had a Rooney, and have a Rudy Vey shavemac on the way. That said, I had the itch to order a butterscotch Shavemac. A fellow on craigslist has a Rooney Stubby 3xl for $200 brandnew. I know both are top teir, but is the Rooney a better buy?

If the Rooney has two rings, buy it, if three, pass.

The 3 rings indicates it was made within the last couple years in which time Rooney has used hair inferior to those previously available and several owners have complained about shedding issues.  Buying one off the street removes any opportunity for refund so you may end up with a $200 prickly shedder.   Sad

Agree...my Rooney's from 2009 are awesome...from 2014 are crap.

BTW, I also have a hankering to buy a Shavemac butterscotch, but will likely go with their beige brown instead, it sure is beautiful.
