Wanted to say hello. Been wet shaving a little over a year now, been lurking here a tad bit longer, although a registered member about half that time. Guess I got started same way many guys do, gotta be a better shave  out there. Used to be I never shaved on the weekend unless I had to, now I look forward to my weekend shaves the most.

I have had some time to try a few soaps, blades and brushes, but so much more to try. Started with a inexpensive kit from Edwin Jagger. Soaps to date a couple of Razorocks, jar of Tabac, and a couple of Dr.Jon's. I like them all, though Tabac always feels a bit dry to me at the end. I do not have a great sense of smell, so Dr.Jon's have been my favorites as the scents are a bit stronger. My most recent additions are a couple of matching products from William Neuman & Co. I got the Absolute Zero in cream(my first) and the Peppermint Clove in the soap. I got the matching AS with both. Love the Absolute Zero cream. After a few tries of to get the lather correct I am amazed the slickness and thickness of this. Wish I could report on the Peppermint Clove, other than an amazing scent. I have not been able to get a good lather yet, but will keep trying. It is a much harder soap than I have tried to date.

Anyway, wanted to say hello and thanks for all the information I have gleamed from your posts.

Fred

I am another long time lurker that recently joined.  Several years ago I thought I was a big time shaver - Mach 3, $14 NOS Jagger eBay brush, Jack Black cream.  I enjoyed shaving back then, enjoy even more now with some "newbie" knowledge.   While I like be independent and like smaller family owned/artisan vendors, this site really has useful plus educational info.  Most of all, the responses are polite and friendly.
