I finally have a Wiborg brush on order with Florian and am wondering about loft. I have settled on a fan / hybrid bulb with a 26mm knot diameter. Now I am wondering about loft height. Since I have no experience with his white badger my initial guess would be in the 52mm range. I like my brushes to have decent backbone with little to some scrub.  Anyone with experience with this hair think a different loft would be more suitable? Thanks

That sounds like a very nice loft for you. These are very nice knots. Enjoy! Thumbsup

Depending on the knot I like 52 or 48. 52 is a great loft

I'm curious and would like some advice as well. I have a "the barber" faux horn on order with the white badger bulb shaped knot spec'ed out at 24 x 48-50 loft. I'm just not sure how densely packed and how firm their knots are?
I do tend to like a firm brush as I face lather only and a little scrub and scritch is okay with me.
Thanks guys.

In my experience there isn't crazy backbone. No scritch, and perhaps the tiniest hint of scrub. Enough to feel ever so slightly but not enough to bother your face

Thanks guys !! I have to admit I'm pretty excited having seen all the nice Wiborgs come through here. I don't mind waiting as I have two new brushes in the mail at the moment both two band thaters that I have high hopes for.

I owned several wiborgs . I will not recommend 52.
My recommendation would be 26x48 with wiborg white or the maximum 50 not more than that . I will hesitate to do 50 with 26 but it will work ok.

Josh, thank you. I will most likely go with 48mm loft as I prefer.control over splay.

What lofts would you suggest for a bulb vs. a fan in white badger? I know the choice is largely personal choice but I also believe some people do one better than the other. Does Wiborg do one better than the other? Thank

Fan is my preference , just get wiborg fan 26x 48 or 26x50. Remind florian no glue bump and you will be ok.

Edit: went for the 48 as I already have floppy brushes and would rather err on the side of stiff.

Thanks! I will take your suggestion and Email him that request right now. I appreciate it, and so will my wife when I don't have to buy several brushes.

+2 to this. I have a 28 with a 52 loft on order. I own a 26 x50 and although it is great, it would be even better with a 48 loft.

The Wiborg White is a wonderful knot, but if it is set too high you won't get enough backbone. Depending on your preferences of course...

I should also note that both of my measurements are for the bulb type knots. If getting a fan, I would definitely go even lower.
