Alrighty I have been spending ungodly amounts of money lately on this addiction of mine and have a few more things in my sights. I see that ikon has their slant (b1 coated) in stock. I currently own a dlc slant and am wondering the difference. I know one is matted one is glossy I was more wondering if anyone has used both and what they can tell me. If I have a dlc (a couple chips in the coating) is there a point in getting a b1? Also need to know people's experience with dlc vs 102... what differences did you find in the shaves? I know dlc torques and 102 bends but what else... I do enjoy my DLC and it has pretty much become my daily driver along with my att r1... I probably use the DLC more. Thank you for your input.

Sorry not answer your question, but put one more. If someone already compared Ikon Slant "DLC, B1 and Teflon"

only difference between the dlc and b1 is the coating. nothing more i have both. and imo i prefer the dlc/b1 just a bit over the 102 but the 102 is awesome as well. problem with the 102 is finding one they are sold out basically everywhere unless you find someone selling one.

What makes prefer the dlc/b1 over the 102? Also which coating do you prefer between the dlc and b1?

the b1 coating is much nicer if i had to pick one. i find the slant to be a bit more aggressive and i can get closer with it. the 102 is one of the most comfortable razors i have used but it takes a bit more work to get super close with it.

Thank you for your input. I am going to have a great deal of trouble not buying the b1 head now...especially since i doubt the availability will continue for long. The dlc provides an excellent shave. The first few times I wasnt very impressed, it has now become my daily driver.

This posting (<=link) is from “the horse’s mouth,” as it were (Greg Kahn of iKon).   One thinks that one must take it as the first and the last word on the matter.

Or maybe not:  see the findings of Penn State University faculty member Seong H. Kim here.

I've owned the 102 Slant for quite some time and recently acquired the ATT Slant and ATT open and closed comb razors......up until recently, I thought my ATT's gave me the best shave UNTIL I acquired the Icon DLC dual comb razor with Bulldog handle....all I can say is OMG....use it with a feather pro blade and had to check if I inserted the blade....mild yet EXTREMELY EFFICIENT....the smoothest and closest shave I've been able to achieve...puts my Feather razor to shame....since it entered the stable, I've used it every day and the shaves just keep getting better.

Does Ikon still produce the DLC?  All I see is B1 on their website.

I tried iKons DLC slant and Shavecraft 102, and  the 102 worked better for me. In fact it is the only iKon razor in my den now.
