Nice razor.  Happy Birthday.  I vaguely remember what 53 was like.

Happy Birthday, Paul. That's the year that I started shaving with a brand new slim from the drug store. Cost: $1.50, and included a pack of blades.

Nope, no better way.  I have to wait until May to shave with my '57 Gillette Red Tip.

Shave was nice......really took my time to really enjoy it. My wife thought I would never get out of the bathroom. lol. As this is my 1st adjustable I had no clue where to set the razor at so I chose "7". Took a hot shower and lathered up with some RazorRock Mudder Focker.  Dropped a new Astra SP in and began. Razor worked well for a 53 year old piece, definitely a keeper.

Went back to the 1962 Slim yesterday....still had the same Astra SP blade in it from my birthday shave. (I have been using my Razorock SLAB and Barberpole mostly these days). I cranked it up to 9 on the settings and had a VERY nice shave indeed. My next blade in the Slim might be a Feather. It's a keeper for sure![Image: kkijI9q.jpg]
