Gents, maybe you can help me out.

I can't seem to access Shavemac's website.  Thought it might be my browser, so I did a clear history.  But I can't get on from my laptop, phone, or iPad.  And I've tried from more than wifi connection.  Weird.

Any ideas?

Works for me too, you can always check things like that by going to:

http://www.isup.me/

And just copying and pasting the URL into the box.

Can you get directly into the configurator? http://www.shavemac.com/products/Experts...ELECT.html

Same problem here. Maybe it's a local issue.

Have you tried a couple of different browsers ?

Try Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft explorer and if you can't access the site with any of these browsers, there must be a block on your computer or your service provider.

I have the same problem. Noticed it a few weeks ago. We switched from Turner cable to AT&T fiber earlier in the year. I don't remember whether I'd accessed the Shavemac site between the switch and the first time I noticed I couldn't get on to it. I tried different browsers on different devices, and it made no difference as long as I was on our LAN. But if I turned off wireless on my Sprint iPhone, I could get onto the site from it via Sprint. So I strongly suspect it's a modem issue. AT&T TS came to the same conclusion. I didn't have time to deal with exchanging modems at the time, so I haven't solved the problem yet.

Thanks for the input, Ken!  I have tried multiple devices with different browsers with the same outcome so I'm guessing you are dead on about the modem.  I will try what you did with my phone!  It's weird because I had no problem getting the site until a few weeks ago, and during that time I haven't changed the modem or cable provider.  Interesting that you noticed the problem right around the same time I did...

BTW-  I used my PK-47 this morning and it was terrific!  As always.

Just got on the site from my phone!  Ken is 100% right.  Strange, but at least I know it's not just me.  Another example of why SN is great.

I have a modem-router that AT&T installed. The reason I'm not over-eager to have AT&T back out to do a switch is that they were in our yard/house for about 13 hours in one day when they did the conversion from Time Warner Cable to AT&T fiber. If switching modems causes half of my LAN to go down, I wouldn't expect them to trouble-shoot and fix it. That's just not their bag. I knew more about LANs than the installers, who were very nice guys, but they were amazed I could connect all the devices we have and make them work.

Anyhow, it could be modem settings that were either unfriendly to Shavemac from the start or became corrupted. Or it could be on the router side. What I'd rather do than just swap a device is understand why the Shavemac site seems to be selectively blocked. I'm sure there are others that I haven't discovered yet.

Please post back here if you figure it out.

Glad you like the brush.

Hmmm.  I haven't noticed any other website that I normally go to being blocked.  And I'm on Time Warner.  I don't want to deal with my cable provider either.   Better to just do a work around.

I really don't see how it could be a hardware issue, per se. I'd think more likely configuration somehow modified or corrupted. I knew how to get into the configuration utility of my old stuff. Don't have a clue with what AT&T installed. Haven't had time and compelling need to figure it out yet.

It is very interesting that you and at least one or two others report the same problem.

I can't get to the website using my iPhone 6 but have no problem with my windows running laptops. I predict the Shavemac website does not like iOS (Apple products).

I can access the Shavemac site with any one of several iPhones in our house as long as they are connected to the Internet via data service rather than on my LAN. The problem in my house is clearly at either the modem or router. AT&T concluded it was the modem, but I'm not sure the person I was talking to really had a clue.

I don't think it's iOS either because I can do the same as Ken, get on using safari on iPhone 6 using data from carrier rather than wifi.  My cable internet is Time Warner, not AT&T so can't say it's just that provider.

it's likely a router configuration. Your cable modem is provisioned and all firmware updates handed via the provider; firmware updates for the router are typically accomplished through the user. Make sure your router has the latest firmware update; after doing so venture into the router's configuration. One of the best websites for answers is: http://www.snbforums.com
