I mostly stream at home so maybe this is old news. But I just saw a Mach 3 commercial, comparing it to the Gillette one or two blade disposables.

TV commercials are expensive to produce, so my thought is that Gillette has realized they're losing the low-cost battle to Harry's, DSC, Dorco and other disposables, and they have been neglecting their other product line.

I saw the commercial. I'm sure there's still some old timers resisting the 5 blade non sense. Two blades is the max I will use.

Sorry to go OT, but Popcorn Time has been in trouble lately, as well as one of its sources, Yify Torrents. The latter is down for good, apparently, and PT might well be, too, though there's currently a site up with "beta" versions. I'm unsure what the particulars are, but would-be users should check into it and be careful before using any of it.

I have not used the Mach 3 or Fusion; in all likelihood the only thing that would bring me to try them is if Gillette sent me a sample for free. That said, I doubt this is motivated much by Harry's or DSC, both of whom have 5-blade carts.

More likely, this is part of the fundamental, cardinal rule of advertising - keep your brand in people's minds. Just as Nike plasters their logo all over Tiger Woods and Lebron James, and NASCAR driver suits are covered in sponsor logos, it is not about brand association (e.g. Lebron uses Nike, so it must be a good brand). It is about persistently keeping Nike in the consumers' heads.

Similarly, Gillette wants its Mach 3 consumers to always remember their brand. Certainly they would love to have those Mach 3 users upgrade to the more expensive Fusion system, but keeping their existing base is also important.

Mach3 is my preferred razor when I'm at home.  On the road it's a Sensor.  Both give me superior shaves to any I've been able to achieve with a DE or an SE and I've been shaving for 50 years.

Dropped cable 3 years ago and now when I see TV live I get annoyed at the endless commercials.

Funny when you watch Netflix and realize that the hour long TV show is only 35 to 40 minutes.

Gillette has been running ads on YouTube when you watch any of the wet shaving videos.  I am sure they are feeling the heat from the upstarts like Harry's.

Mach 3 is an excellent razor. Not everyone's cup 'o tea but it works for me and millions of others. It's only right that Gillette advertise the Mach3.

Also keep in mind that most high end razor handles accept the Mach3 cartridge because it is still the most popular cartridge in the world.
