Quick review:
This is definitely a cream, and not a croap. It has a texture similar to AOS creams.
I give it a 10 on latherability, either in a bowl or on the face. I found it to be quite thirsty.
It gets top marks on skin protection, slickness and moisturizing properties as well
I personally like the tin it comes in. I think the size is good if you like to dip the brush in, and the seal is foolproof.
I am under the impression this soap is meant to be unscented. As you all know, there is really no such thing. I personally love the scent it does give off. It is very subtle, so I don't think there is much in the way of fragrance. This should be good for those of use that have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies. I am horrible about describing scents, but can say that it I love it. It is clearly made to offend anyone, so don't expect traces of lavender, or vetiver, or sandalwood. (Mark can correct me if I am wrong on any of this)
Will I buy it again? Absolutely. I would like to see it come in a squeeze tube for travel as well. Also, I would recommend to whoever is able to cary it, that they create some small samples for distribution. I would hate for this great soap to get lost since it comes from a brush maker.

Thanks for the review. Although I haven't bought a cream in quite awhile and I'm trying to finish off the remaining creams that I have left, I plan on trying this one as soon as one of our vendors offer it. Don't know why, but it's had my interest since Simpsons began tweeting about it last Sept.

Great review, thanks.
There is plant extract in the cream which will inevitably give off a slight scent.
For all intent and purposes it has been designed as an unscented cream for sensitive skin types and for producing decadent silky smooth big lather!!!
The fragranced creams are now in development.
Regards,
Mark

What scents are in development Mark?
I agree with the reviewer, this is a very good cream.
When I first opened my tin I was a bit underwhelmed and the scent didn't hit me as being particularly attractive.
Once lathered though this is a very dense and protective cream and is right up there with the best of them.
Like the Vulfix creams, it's a significantly better product than the somewhat basic packaging would imply.
I think Simpsons are on to a winner here.

Scents? - I'd rather that kept a wee secret for now

Great news about the scented versions.
I'm particularly interested in the Sandalwood, Lavender/Vetiver and Vanilla/Rose offerings.
This morning I used the unscented for the first time...

My experiences mirror Johnny's in many ways.
Ease of lathering: Excellent
Skin care: Excellent
Longevity of lather: Excellent
In these 3 categories the Simpsons excels.
But scent, or in this case non-scent is the least enjoyable aspect of this product for me.
It certainly doesn't smell bad.
The scent is obviously only of the ingredients from which it's made, but it left me less than excited.
Performance wise, this product can't be faulted.
Unlike Johnny, I didn't find it overly thirsty.
The lather outlasted many other products I've used.
For me this is an outstanding property, given I like to take my time shaving.
I would buy this product again, but will wait for the scented varieties, of which I've already chosen three!
