I just got the puck today and I'm wondering if it should be merchandised as unscented. No scent at all. It is disappointing.  I love Harris soaps. Top shelf all the way, but no scent in this case! What's the reason for this? Can I fix the soap in any way?

I love D.R. Harris Almond Soap.  Yes, the scent is subtle, but there.  I have usually heard it referred to as eau de quinine.  Wonderful shave!

Have you lathered it yet?

I get a vanilla bean scent mainly, with whole almonds in the background.

It's a discrete subtle scent. Comes out more during the shave. I get a nutty dry pure unpeeled almond scent from it. Not the usual sweet marzipan stuff. The DR HARRIS Almond cream is completely different and up the alley of the sweeter marzipan cherry almond scents.

I love the scent of the cream, but the soap is very nearly unscented.

All DRH soaps are muted relative to their creams--and this rule, is particularly noticeable with the 'Almond'. Though faint, I too get an eau de quinine and dry almond scent.
Moreover, I've encountered batch variability, where one Almond soap emitted a very mild scent, and another, almost no scent at all.
As mentioned, it's still a top-shelf soap--as are all DRH soaps, IMO.

After using the soap for a week I still think it has almost no scent, but what I get is good and its performance is outstanding.

It's just kind of a creamy scent to me (I said vanilla bean, above, but I think creamy is a better description.)

I've had several pucks and a stick of Almond and there's barely been a scent in any of them. Still, I consider it my #1 soap, preferring it even over my 4 other Harris soaps. I get sick of any scent over time. I don't have that problem with Almond.
