I picked up this handle from Scotch & Stowe Shaving Supplies.  It is a "factory second" but I cannot find the "defect".  It turned a Gillette Tech travel razor in to a first class shaving razor.  It comes with a head similar to the EJ/Muhle razors which I replaced with the Gillette Tech head.  The heft and grip of this handle is quite nice and a pleasure to use.  The cost was ~$15.00 shipping included.

Handle - 8.5 x 1.25 x 1.25 cm
Head - 4 x 2.5 x 1 cm
3.8 ounces

For me, no.  The short handle is aluminum and virtually weightless.  The weight, coupled with the short handle, made razor angle and control difficult for me.  And, I have what I consider to be small hands.  Here is a pic holding the razor.  The "machined out" areas are a perfect fit for my index, middle, and thumb/fingers.  Razor control was nice and the heft made razor strokes easy.

Hope this helps.

It looks to be the same handle as the Maggard MR5 that many of us regard as one of the best out there.  See mine as part of a ftankenrazor here.  Does yours have a maple leaf (Maggard’s trademark) embossed on the butt end?

It has the Scotch and Stowe mark.  This is a wonderful handle.  The knurled portion is amazingly exact and clean.  It sure feels good in my hand.
