I can't pick a favorite. I have Sandalwood and Marlbourgh and Arlington. I love them all. I have always had them on my "short list" of the best stuff out there.

Arlington is one of my All time favorite scents ever. However, I have back up pucks of sandalwood also by AOS.

Come to think... I have Marlbourgh that I have been thinking about trading for Almond for a while, just because when I want something in that range I reach for AOS. Both are great soap lines.

Honestly, if I had to pick one soap to use the rest of my life based solely on performance, it would be an AoS soap.

I'm not a fan of any of their scents, but it's the best tallow-based soap I've ever used. Harris soaps blow AoS out of the water scent-wise but aren't as good of a soap for me (IMO, YMMV). Having said that, I could use DRH everyday and get perfect shaves too. You really can't go wrong with either.

I agree! My AoS Sandalwood only smells like clay to me! And I do love Marlborough, but Valobra makes the best soaps, and the shaving stick is my favorite... so Valobra it is, in all it's forms!

I haven't used my C&S 88 in quite some time and opened it the other day... the scent as turned so rancid, it's horrible! Still, it's Valobra! Tongue

Haven't used either, but D.R. Harris soaps sound more promising to me.

No disrespect meant

This thread started as a Poll, when people who have not used both let alone ANY, I mean really what is the point of chiming in?Huh

All it does is screws the poll results up.

D.R. Harris beyond doubt. Whilst there is no disputing that the now discontinued tallow based soaps were incredible, I have always found them to be drying to my skin, unlike the Harris soaps. This is a general thing with Valobra, IMO, since the same is true for me with the C&S soaps.

I am new to D.R. Harris soaps this year. I find them to be what Trumpers used to be which is everything I wanted in a scented soap.

While I love the lather Volabra gives the background odor puts me off a bit. I usually put a dab of cream over the puck to mask it someBiggrin

Harris by a mile. I feel like the lather, shave, scents and packaging is all much nicer.

Plus AOS has that hideous clay scent in all their soaps that turns my stomach.

Windsor is so nice! I prefer it over Arlington. I too agree that the AoS had too much of a clay smell but haven't tried the new non-tallow version to see if the smell is still there.

I went with Harris, just for the Windsor, as for me the scent and excellent lather pushed it to the top! I also have and really like Marlborough shave stick, Almond with Tallow-first, and Lavender. Something in the Arlington irritated my skin. I even like the Naturals soap, though they don't produce as excellent a lather as the tallow formulas do.

The AoS soaps just seem washed out, scent-wise, and I'm not a big fan of the dirt smelling Sandalwood, though the performance is just as good as Harris.

The AoS creams, beat the Harris creams in performance hands down, especially the Ocean Kelp...wish they would make a soap out of that one. I'd buy it for sure!
