I received the email also; finish looked a tad 'rough' in the pictures.  I suspect cast SS in terms of fabrication.

Yikes, more than a tad rough to me. Did they give a price? Feels like if it's not sintered or machined, it's not a good look.

For being cast it looks fine to me - would love to know what exact alloy they are casting in - and the price is a lot more affordable than a machined stainless steel razor would be.

Yes, but SS can be cast or forged.  The bad thing about casting is the low tolerance, but on a razor, it is small enough not to make a difference.

It should be ok.....

The dimensional tolerance that  can be achieved today across a production run of cast steel parts are comparable to the dimensional tolerance that could be achieved by machining during WW2, provided the quality control is on their toes, dependant on the exact alloy used. Hence why I was wondering.

I think for the price, this is a good entry level SS razor for those thinking about purchasing a more expensive piece of hardware.

Wow! That seems like a great price if it shaves well.

People will talk poorly about this razor then when it gets discontinued you will see 10 WTB ads go up and people will start paying $100+ for it.

I agree; looks aren't everything.
Performance will ultimately determine value, regardless of price.

The shape of the cuts on the open comb teeth look like a "Timor" brand product to me (which Fendrihan sells as well).  It also looks like the center post is attached to the top plate after it was cast to simplify the process.  (I think Merkur does this as well).  That being said,  if the blade positioning is no worse than a FaTip  we may have another good razor in an affordable price range.  I'd be interested in trying to polish one of these up to see how good it actually could look.
