Recently, I purchased this soap in refill form. I am a big fan of Le Pere Lucien's soaps and I wanted to try this scent a long time. I pushed it into a nice porcelain dish. Had a couple of shaves, the performance is fantastic. I didin't have any doubt, because I already have the Traditionnel edition and I know how they perform.

Well, I am very satisfied except of the scent. I can't detect any Cedre or Patchouli or anything. It's like the Nature scent, unscented. The Traditionnel has also a very mild scent that I like, but this one has no scent at all. It's like shaving with an unscented soap. I don't know what it's going on, I really tried to smell something on this soap. I am disappointed a little, to be honest. Also, I had the opportunity, when I bought it, to sniff the 200g bowl version and I didn't smell anything either. So, I was hoping that when I would build the lather and wet the soap, I could smell the scent. I was wrong.

I just purchased the Rose LPL at Bullgoose last night and hope to like the scent. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy yours.

I actually used it last night as a matter of fact. Performs great and as far as for scent, it's quite noticeable like all my other soaps. I usually find the bathroom lingering with a scent of the soap after I shave. YMMV.

I get a strong, woodsy scent first; then it releases the patchouli.

Now, it's getting really strange. If you gents can smell the scent, describing it as quite noticeable and strong, and I can't smell anything, I am sure that something happened.

I decided to send an email to Cyril. I am looking forward for the answer. I am very curious...

I own the 200 gram tin version. Very strong scent in mine.

Perhaps you got the unscented by mistake ??

My scent is very strong as well ... Prompted me to revisit Killians Intoxicated and A Men to get more of the patchouli vibe.

Very nice, Dave  Thumbsup

When I really want a visit to Patchouli land, I take out my Bond No.9 Hot Always, Givenchy Gentleman & Bois 1920 Real Patchouly............

I prefer Patchouli in mix with other fragrances. By itself it's too darn hard and in your face for me.

As I said above, I sent an email to Cyril, who responded promptly and offered to send me a new one. Probably a mistake in packaging. I thought the same.

Claus, you mentioned Givenchy Gentleman.  What shaving soap do you think must closely matches it?

If you like rose scented soaps you are going to love this.  Best rose soap I've ever tried.

Good that Cyril is sending you another puck.  I had to revisit mine after reading this and I too get a very strong scent from mine.

I feel pretty sure it is a packaging mix up, just by the pure white colour of your batch...
