I used it for the first time today.  Not bad. I can't figure out the scent. The notes for the soap say sandalwood but I don't snell it. I like thelevel of menthol.  Not overpowering.  Not bad. Not sure if I would order again but, I wwe will see.  Have cream on the way. What does everyone else think?

I don't have the soap, but do the fine LEA Classic splash, from which I get a mild, fleeting scent of citrus [dominating here], sandalwood, moss--though I doubt very, very much it is of the authentic Mysore variety.

The Lea Classic Shaving soap is a solid performer that flies under the radar for some reason.

I have both the LEA classic shave soap and the cream. They both work very well for me, no complaints. I have to admit I love the retro packaging especially the shave cream tube.

I actually like the scent although I can't describe it. The lather I produce with my usual technique starts off airy/fluffy  (I have similar experiences with DR Harris soaps if I don't start with a somewhat dry brush), however it works itself into a fine product. Performance is slightly above average. Overall, it's probably a 7/10 for me... Wink

True. Wouldn´t be without my Lea puck.

You could probably give me any quality tallow hard soap that performs great, has a  superb postshave, is sold at a good pricepoint and  I will sing its praise. But really, who would not Wink

I have a stick that I haven't used.  I guess I'm going to have to pop the cork on this one.

The stick is a different formula from Lea Classic. I like LEA Classic but am not a fan of the other formula. YMMV of course.

when you use the classic cream, you have to options, if you let the lather get cool, use a cold lather bowl, you get massive bursts of the menthol.

use HOT water, in a HOT lather bowl, you get massive burst of oak moss and sandalwood.

this was the first cream I ever used. its good, id get it again, but I don't like the cap on the tube. mine cracked the first time I opened it up and until I used a 3rd of the tube, it would always try to squeeze itself out the crack in the cap.

Own both the Lea Classic cream in the tube and the soaps in the wooden bowl.

Prefer the soap in the bowl by soe, but the cream is still a solid performer for me.
Both products are cheap and good value.

They are not in my Top 50 cream/soap list though, but still solid products.

They are solid products, but the leas classic cream excels in the post shave experience. its almost good enough to be a face cream.

I have used the Classic Soap for some time ,and agree it lathers well , using the a relatively dry brush. Have previously used the Lea Menthol , and more recently used the Classic Cream. All these products are good value , and perform well.

On a personal level , I do not seem to have a great nose for scents, so am quite happy using  products which perform well but do not cost the earth. Examples besides Lea , being MWF,Tabac, Vitos Red , La Toja.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that.  I picked a couple of sticks in Barcelona because they were dirt cheap, lol....

I have the cream and I am on the fence about it. The scent is interesting and complex with a very punchy menthol kick.
It will be a good addition to Ingram in the summer. Though I think Ingram is the better cream, I can't use it everyday (well - I don't care to) , so the LEA would be nice.

As far as the lather, it is ok but maybe I need further practice with it to dial in the water ratio. Of the 4 LEA creams, my favorite is the (original) sensitive, which is very cheap and easily produces excellent lather. I got the 40g tube, which costs as much (or little) as a sample but I will definitely buy the 150g tube in the future. I can't say that about the new classic line though.

I tried the shaving cream (classic) this mornig for the first time.  Granted I have only used it once, but I believe it performs better than the soap.
