$4 US. Cool. Boar. Uncertain of date, but after Rooney moved to Walthamstow (London E.17) as is evident on the box. Very pleasing. It's the only Rooney I have in my possession. Model B56

"French Ivory", actually Smile

Celluloid. Not sure if it's a solid handle or not.

As celluloid was phased out early on, at around 1930 (as I understand it) and Rooney moved to E.17 in 1927, this may be an early brush indeed. I have never seen another Rooney with a celluloid handle, but I haven't really researched this.

Can the knot be anymore white tipped? It seems bright and clean to me. Do you ever shave with boar bristle brushes? This could be a nice candidate for a reknot where both handle and knot are kept intact.

I see no reason to re-knot. The bristles are original, washed, etc etc. I like original brushes and yes, I like boar. Semogue boar I like very much. Silky soft.

Great idea to keep it original as well. I adore Semogue boar too as they always do me well for a shaving brush.

What soap do you plan to use with the Celluloid Rooney first?

I have many soaps. I have been using the Monsavon I bought last time I was in Paris. I like it: cheap, tallowy goodness. My little homage to Parisians.

As original as this is not to mention old/I would add to the display case, after one use of coarse.
