I'll start off saying I've had Mongoose razors come and go. Found a deal on a Cobra classic and jumped on it. Selfishly I'll admit I didn't intend to really like it in the long run based on my prior Mongoose comes and goes. I was going to flip it to get some hobby money back, and I apologize for thatSmile

I decided to run it through some Barbacide and give it one shave just for the heck of it. COMPLETELY different animal vs. the Mongoose. I think it's a keeper, I was amazed honestly. The aggression, feel, control, all so good! Will likely allow me to sell my Feather AC that I use for clean up. I'm honestly shocked. Didn't seem like much when I took it out of the box......boy was I wrong!

Congratulations, Rob and I guess you'll be looking to get a King as a back-up, at some point. Biggrin

Not at all surprising.  The Cobra Classic is a superb razor, and it gives a near perfect shave with Feather Pro blades.   More aggressive than the Mongoose, but with careful use and a light touch, it gives --IMHO -- a much closer shave with little or no irritation.   The King Cobra is not as aggressive, and I suspect you will not like it as much.

Welcome to the "Keep my Cobra" club!

Love my Cobra but since I have moved to Feather Supers on my Mongoose it does not get out much.  I think the Mongoose with Feather Supers gives me just as close a shave with no weepers.

Cobra Classic is great shave one on new blade. Shave two - four I can get a lot of weepers.  Shaves 5-20ish is great.

You should try the Cobra on a Pro Super

I've only tried the classic, didn't care for the hand feel. I'd try a King if it ever came to fruition, but highly unlikely.
The cobras sure do cover a lot of real estate for sure.

The only problem I have with the Cobra and Mongoose style razors is the lack of maneuverability.  It was very difficult for me to comfortably get my neck with the single edge razors.  Is this a unique frustration or do all single edge users face the same issue with less contempt?

I liked the shaves I got from it but my finders never felt comfortable with the handle and the loading mechanism was a bit shoddy and difficult. I got another go at a mongoose and I am enjoying it a lot more the second time.

Yeah, I, too, was never taken all, that much by the Mongoose. The Cobras, however, are s regular part of my rotation. Spectacular shaves. Congrats!

It fits in mine, but I have heard some say that it won't fit in theirs.

Is that a folding or non-folding model, Rob? If it's the latter, I may be interested if you do in fact decide to part with it.

Black non-folding, if I can get my Hart edge sorted the AC will probably go.

I've heard this persistently, too. I have a King Cobra from the most recent batch, as well as a Cobra Classic and a Mongoose. Both Supers and Professionals have fit all three without a problem. I think I read that the blades were changed at some point, but I have no idea when, or if some of the razors are different.
