I had my first shave with the Stout brush from Fine shaving last night. It lathers great and has enough backbone to make me happy. This has a lot more backbone than the other Fine brush. It has a 24mm knot and 52mm loft with an overall size of 93mm.
I used it for face lathering today and it performed just super. I will try it for bowl lathering on my next shave. I think the idea of a STOUT size is really a different experience. It is great brush and for just $25.00 it is a deal. The Stout brush is very nice and makes a nice addition to any shave den.

I looked on their site, found minimal info. From the description, I'm assuming it's a synthetic?
That would explain ,"100% cruelty free, requires no break-in period, and has no associated animal smell."
I like the classic Retro style. How does the handle fit your hand?

The handle is solid so it has some weight to it. It feels good in my hand. You are correct, it is a synthetic knot. I really like this brush.

Congrats. It's nice when something tenuous turns out to be satisfying.
I'm glad it appears to be working out for you.
