I have come to the conclusion that acquiring much more than a couple of bushes, a good razor, and a new soap from time to time amounts to a mindless, if not pathological, consumerism. Truth be told, the difference between lathering with a cheap boar hair brush and an expensive silvertip badger is mostly in the head of the one who lathers. But, hey, it's better than collecting assault rifles.

It's also fun, and harmless (as long as you use your debit card and not credit card).

What do you enjoy most about the hobby?

Ilnones is spot on. However, a shaving forum is the wrong place to voice such opinions. Because a shaving forum is the online equivalent to AA, only with less booze and more Red Tips and Filarmonicas. And costume brushes. And artisinal ass milk soaps. And... what was the latest hype again?

Oh, and with lots and lots of enablers, of course.

I really love looking forward to the morning shave. I'm now rotating three brushes ranging in price from $10 to $200 with identical results. I much prefer the DE razor to a cartridge razor. The morning ritual is great.

I love my shaving gear and assault rifles, just saying.  Wrong place to play politics, lol....
