I'm currently only using Astra SP blades. I ordered a 100 pack from Amazon last year and they sent out 2 packs by mistake. This hobby can be very expensive so i decided I would use all these blades before I bought more.

I'm noticing it's very common for 1 or 2 of the blades in a tuck to be a little rougher than the other 3 or 4. This could be user error or QC, but I really haven't had any issues with this until recently.

Which blades in your opinion are the most consistent?

I've had great consistency with Perma Sharp Super, Gillette sharp edge yellows and PolSilver.
Does this question cover consistently bad ? Because my most consistenly poor performer is Souplex Super Stainless. I thought these German blades would be great but ATG it feels like each hair is being ripped out from the root.

I used around 125-150 with no problems, but recently about 1 in 5 blades results in the roughest shave you could imagine!

Merkur blades are the most consistent......Consistently lousy.

I like Astra SP's in all my razors.

my iridiums* - the only blades i use - are always even, and once in a blue moon, a blade is even slightly better than usual; which means, better than non plus ultra

Absolutely agreed!  Nothing to compare to them, and I have enough of these (NOS) to test consistency for many years.

Marius,

If you buy enough blades, you live forever.  (At least that's the plan.)
