For me, it depends on the razor.  A very inexpensive Personna Red gives me consistently good shaves in my Fatboy like no other blade can. Feathers in a Black Tip and Gillette Super Speed Black Beauty.  Right now, my go-to blades are Feather/Baili/Ladas.  It just depends on the razor of the day.

I have never found a consistent blade. I think the quality of shave has a lot to do with the condition of the skin (i.e. dry vs moisturized), length of the hair (longer the hair the better shave), the razor and the soap. I have never had the patience to hold all variable constant just so I can evaluate a particular blade. My current top 3 are Gillette blues, Super Iridiums and recently added Feather blades.

They are definitely more costly, but for me the most consistent (and top-notch) blades have been the original Super Iridiums, Wilkinson Light Brigades, and Gillette 'Swedes.'

I've never heard of Wizamet, where does one acquire some?

I believe in you! You can do the thing!

wizamet was a famous polish factory, their standard blade being polsilver (stainless), and their premium blade being iridium (super stainless/extra stainless) - later to become iridium super. the packaging can vary a great deal.

the brand was acquired by gillette and de blade production continued in st petersburg, russia, were it eventually evolved into polsilver super iridium, and i think the 'w' as in wizamet went out of use.

i have no idea were you can aquire iridium blades as they are no longer produced, but try b/s/t Smile

here are examples of some of the versions i have:

DE: I get my most consistently smoothest and comfortable shaves from Crystal blades in any of my Red Tips or Merkur 42C.
Next would be Med Preps followed by 7:00 Yellows, GSB and Lab Blues. Labs don't last more than 2 shaves.
Crystals, Yellows and GSBs last 3, sometimes 4 shaves.
Med Preps last for 4-6 shaves.

The blades that have performed consistently badly for my technique would be green Astras and Wilkinson carbons.

SE: I've only tried GEM SS. I always seem to get a dozen great shaves from each blade.

Over the years Personna Med Preps have been my most consistent blade.

Just started using Polsilvers. They are proving to be excellent too.

My old Iridium's and Feathers.

Enough to last me into the next life, and then some. I'm done experimenting. My beard told me so.

I liked them so much I stockpiled for the shave-apocalypse, unfortunately now I mostly use SE blades (Cobra with Kai Mild).

Iridiums are wonderful.
I have settled on Kai's... wonderful blades,
quiet yet consistent.

+1  , however, fortunately for me, I still use DE razors! Biggrin
