The Shave Nook administrators and moderators are considering having a custom pocket knife made as a forum limited edition item. Before starting the process however, we wanted to test the waters and see if there might be interest in such an item. Also...we welcome input from the knife aficionados. What makers would interest you? What features would you want? If one of you aficionados wants to help with this project, please send me a PM.

We may be able to have them make a few left-handed models if we pre-order. I did not even realize that there was such a thing. Definitely something to request.

I may be able to help, as I have many pocket knives and live where many are brought to life (Oregon) the home of Benchmade, Kershaw etc. I would be happy to help if possible.

Thanks, Dinder1.
As Phil stated, we are eager to see what the interest level for something like this might be.
We wanted to do something a little different from the usual forum LE .. and look forward to hearing what members have to say.
All suggestions are welcome at this time, and we will then 'hone' things further ..

noting modern, nothing modern at all. nothing tactical.

Ideally a stockman or trapper. or pen knife style. Just a good old fashioned lockback.

design the closed shave to look like a folded up straight razor, the hook on the blade can be your opening device.

Allow this thought to marinate. A TSN knife will most likely have the owners wanting to include it in their SOTDs. Is this something TSN wants as it will be a slippery slope before other things that typically are carried along with knives start wanting to show up as well?

If so, then lefty friendly would be great; minimalistic rather than tacti-cool; framelock or axis lock; lightweight.

Blade length should also be a consideration as different states have differing laws as to what is legal to carry.

Just things to think about.

I would be in for one similar to the Brad Zinker design that Jamie Mahoney posted.
I prefer pocket clips and locking blades.

I've carried a pocket knife since Cub Scouts. Taught my children knife safety, and gave them their first one. I can't imagine not having one in my pocket when I leave the house.
Options on a left handed? Got my attention! I'd be impressed with a Case brand. But no "End of the Day Michael Prater Painted Pony" muddy swirled glitter scales.
