Ok so we have all come across those soaps n creams that are spoken about on every post as potentially the best, the CRSW, MW, B&M and Soap Commander's of this world but who are the underrated Titans?!

For me there is two types of underrated:
1. Those that we all know about but probably don't get the mention they deserve.
2. Those hidden gems, the ones that only a few people have encoutered or discovered.

There is, I guess, another underrated group. This is the ones that don't really deserve to be mentioned but we are not fussed about those so will not mention them.

So out of those two possibilities tell me two (if you can, one or none will do) for each category.

I will start:

1. Dapper Dragon and Reef Point Soaps
2. Handmade soap company and Twa Burds

1. Dapper Dragon and Soapy Bathman
2. N/A

I would add Reef Point but based on the number of reviews on their site and Maggard I don't think they are as underrated as some forum members may believe. The same goes for Strop Shoppe.

I think Mike's Natural and Strop Shoppe LE (with lanolin) occupy that strange twilight zone where they've been around forever, and a lot longer than newer and more popular soaps, and yet they're still A+ 10/10 5-star products just like they were from the start.

I remember when Mikes was pretty much all anyone talked about.

I agree with both your comments on Strop Shoppe.

I vote Vintage Williams. Not the best ever but better than a lot of soaps commonly mentioned. Only down fall is the scent is usually nonexistent or weak at best. It's the only soap I have a stockpile of.

I had forgotten all about Spencer & Devon (and I used to carry it). The performance was definitely nice with the scents (at least the Spice scent) somewhat polarizing.

1) shave soap from l'occitane. Great stuff I doubt people use much. This would probably be my desert island soap.

2) Deluxe shaving cream from our friends up north.

Great performance and scents are spot on, but no one seems to ever talk about them. It's part of my rotation and comes up at least once a week for me. Perhaps its a secret I should keep to myself.   Tongue

Nanny's Silly Soap - well regarded in the UK but seemingly under the radar in North America.
Castle Forbes rarely features in SOTD shots either.

Professor Blighty (glycerin based) if you can get hold of his barbarian (viking campfire, home brew and sweat) or grapewood, the latter being one of my favourites .

Vintage 'made in Jordan' Erasmic cream the scent is fantastic and performance is very good.

I also think Stirling is underrated. After Rod switched the formula the lather is very easy to produce and is super slick. But I also recently acquired the new tallow unscented ss substituting Lanolin with beeswax and its one of the best I've used in a long time.

I will submit the same soap for both categories:  Country Club for Men.

Outstanding in every way, whether in tallow or vegan version (although I actually slightly prefer the vegan version).  I am now on my third tub of this stuff.  It's amazing.

Another tallow to try. Thanks for this.

I got one of the original tins of beeswax before it was ever listed on his website.  I do agree, that soap is in a class by itself.

I'll put in for Tim's Soap.  I have the "Roots" and its a lovely blend of high-quality vetiver and citrus, reminds me of my favorite Jabonman scent.

Great performance and post-shave as well, an excellent soap!
