In February, I purchased an E4 Fatboy from that auction site.  I thought I got a great deal:  under $37 including shipping.  Unfortunately, either the pictures were not very good or I didn't look closely enough.  When it arrived, I discovered big time plating loss and pitting.  I had become the owner of the UglyBoy.  [Image: U6UVi2r.jpg][Image: GnVMQ1C.jpg][Image: gkyRSms.jpg][Image: kuc3duZ.jpg]

In case you were wondering, these are not the pictures that were used on the auction site. Oddly enough, those pictures did not have this kind of detail.

Despite the appearance. the UglyBoy shaved just fine.  What to do, what to do?  Eureka! I found Delta Echo Razorworks.
Pictures to come!

The UglyBoy came back today.   When I sent it in, I told Jay that I was not expecting a miracle.  You know silk purses and sows ears, chicken salad ...  Anyway, it came with Delta Echo's awesome presentation, gently wrapped and tied with string.

Was it worth the investment?  Darn right it was.  The NewBoy is going to my son when he graduates from college next spring.

edit: no wait. It shows using Chrome. Looks awesome. Like a tank.

That's my eldest son, by the way.  Not the youngest one who famously shaved with an EJ DE 98 without the baseplate.   Hmm, maybe I need to rethink the recipient.

Before it arrived, Jay sent me an email saying that he regretted not being able to get the adjustment knob quite right given its previously bad condition.  I think he did an awesome job.  This razor speaks to the quality of his work.

I'm will try to get some in natural light tomorrow.  My rudimentary equipment and skills are not doing justice to it.

A world of difference has been achieved. The coloring looks like an adjusted silver and black. I do like the coloring scheme.

You could always just keep it for yourself. No one here would blame you.....

White lettering stands out quite well. I've heard the coating makes for great glide. How does it shave?

I just got my first straight, so I have been fooling around with that new toy.  I will give the new Fatboy a try over the weekend.  I definitely need to stay away from the BST for a while.

However, the straight has opened up a whole new area of gear to buy ...
