Hey all,

Hoping to trade this Simpson's Chubby 2 in SiLVERTiP. Only used a handful of times. Still have the original box.

Was hoping to find a M&F, Paladin or Varlet with super soft tips. My face does not do too well with much scrub, as even this very soft Chubby 2 is a bit too much for me.
Edit: Would also consider an older Rooney!

I'm open to other brush offers as well! Whatever difference there is in price can be negotiated.
If you'd like to see other pictures just let me know.

It sounds like the 2-band is back to what it was in the 2010 era Sad  I went through 6 or 7 2-band Simpsons and settled on a Chubby 2 and Emperor 3.  Very different feeling from the Tulip, Polo and Eshan.  Much softer.

You'll find it.  The 2012ish 2-bands are stellar in their ultra soft tips.

The Varlet definitely has very soft tips. For me it's not to the point of being gel tipped and still has a distinct feel for me. Have you also considered Thater 2-band Josh? Those are supposed to be very soft, and what many refer to as having gel tips.

I have the same problem with my chubby 2 best. Great brush but a bit too scritchy for me. I recemtly got a wolf whiskers with a 24mm tgn silvertip premium knot set at 50-52mm. Ive used it once (just got it) but my 1st experience with it was fantastic so nice and soft and fluffy. Everything i wanted the chubby to be. Not that the chubby is bad just not the level of soft i was after. Try a tgn silvertip premium knot. Better yet get it attached to a wolf whiskers.

Im especially curious about the Verlet knots. They look very nice.
I've had a Shavemac. Loved the face feel but the knot was just too small and a bulb so I sold it

I can't remember any Simpsons Best brushes myself personally ever being too scritchy, but not saying that can't happen as you can get very noticeable differences. My Simpsons Rover has some of the best (pun intended) best badger hair I've ever used in a Simpsons brush. A Milk Churn 2 and a recent Chubby 2 in Best I got used are also delightfully soft.

Josh, it sounds like you need to order a custom Shavemac Silvertip 2-Band, then! Biggrin

Good luck with the sale and your search!

A custom Shavemac Silvertip 2-Band would be an excellent choice as well. So many excellent choices out there!

Celestino has it. Order a Custom Shavemac 2 band , or just get the knot and send it to Doug Korn. Or buy a cheaper BST brush with a Shavemac knot and get it transplanted. There ya go, three ways to heaven. Ok 4, get a Thäter 2 band and transplant that.

Regardless, good luck with the trade!

Hi

I have just received a 26mm custom Shavemac 2 band silvertip. It has the softest "gel like tips" that I have ever experienced! As such I agree with the others!!!

I'd offer a trade, but a) I guess the Simpsons was more expensive and b) im in the UK!

Good luck!!!!

Matt

Josh would you be interested I a Somerset era PJ3 in Super? If so, PM me your email and I'll send some pics. This is the softest brush I have ever used...big, but not a mop at all.

Others could chime in but I believe it was sold as the Ebony Marble. Sorry if I was unclear.
