Hi everyone. New to this forum, but have been wet shaving for a lil under a year now. since then I haven't looked back. I was reading an article or viewing a video (can't recall) about wet shaving when some very vivid memories that were deep in there surfaced.
My grandfather was a God in my eyes. he was the foundation of our family. He was the strongest man I knew, yet he never hid how much he loved me. My grandfather worked construction for 40+ years and was in his 60's when a heart attack took him away. The memory that came to me was, as a child I would like to hang out as much as possible with him. I would come in after his routine shower after work and he would at times shave. I would watch and admire the ritual and wonder when I would be able to do that. We would on occasion (if some event was coming up) walk down to the local barber and he would get a straight shave. The barber would now and then put me up in the chair and put hot lather out of the machine and use what I thought was a razor, but I'm sure now it was probably just the back of a comb or something. my grandad would just watch and ocassionaly laugh. he was a wonderful man.
Now I'm in my mid 30's and I'm shaving just like he did. wish he could see me now.

Welcome to the Nook. What great memories you have of your grandfather. I am sure that he would be pleased knowing that you are classic shaving.
