The shiney lather method he shared has improved my shaves more than anything else this year.  All of my soaps and creams perform much much better as a result.  I'm getting more slick protective lather with happier shaves.  Some creams and soaps I didn't like so much I've revisited and suprisingly found I really like them by spending more time, adding more water. I spend time bowl lathering getting things dialed in then do all the face lathering I have time for- I'm getting more hydrating lather with plenty of cushion and better shaves.   I dug out Al's Calypso this am and its like a different product...
So my thanks for 2015 are to The Nook of course and to Merkur Man!

Great news to hear. I am glad the Nook has helped and Nathan is a great guy who obviously has figured the lather game out. Congrats on your new found fondness of some soaps that sounded like they were on the way out the door.

Haha! Just happened upon this thread. I am glad you guys found this method beneficial to you! I hope you continue to enjoy it!
I have also really enjoyed the Nook this year.  We have a great forum with excellent members with a wealth of knowledge.  My personal nook 2015 favorite was Ken's (Chief Broom) in depth look into Dark Holler/Paladin brush fabrication.  Well done my friend!  I have so much more appreciation for brush makers and the lengths they go to to produce my favorite piece of shaving equipment!

Nathan, I think you made the best lathering video I've ever seen, and I've been wet shaving for 53 years. Every new, and many experienced, shaver should see it.

Here is the link the the original Shiny Lather video:
Merkur Man's Shiny Lather video

The link Richard posted above is to a video I did regarding Mystic Waters soap.  It employs a similar method, but I thought I'd also give the link to the original shiny lather video.  Hope you enjoy!

Richard,
You read my mind. The Mystic Water Video is perfect!

Nathan,
Lordy, that M&F brush is divine. Thanks for the link!
