I have decided to give SE razors another try. I have been thinking about them a lot since I sold my first One Blade.

I prefer smooth and efficient.  Standard bar to Open comb.

I expect some learning curve and lots of fun experimenting with the following razors:

One Blade (round 2)

King Cobra

Mongoose (Dub Legend batch 1 & Aluminum Wave)

Ever Ready 1914 Rose Gold

Ever Ready 1924

GEM 1912 Damaskeene

GEM Clog Pruf

GEM Bullet Tip

GEM Junior fat handle

Schick Model G Injector

Schick Model E2 Injector (2)

It wasn't too long ago that I remember Ravi having a run similar to this. Cool

Have at it Dave. I'm looking forward to enjoying the ride along with you as you experience all of these fabulous razors, both of yesteryear and today.

Injectors! You really need an injector or two in the mix.  Cool

I already got all the SE's I'll even want but I have to agree that you should also try a injector. Have fun with the razors!

Thanks everyone! A lot has improved with my technique (understanding beard and generating lather) since last using SE razors. I am optimistic knowing what to expect.

I am open to trying injectors again once I wade through this list. The few I tried seemed to be less efficient than I would have liked however.

I already know I really like the One Blade.

I had a few Cobra Classics, and look forward to the King Cobra. I don't think I gave my original 'Goose much of a chance.

In regards to vintage SE razors, I have tried an OCMM, while efficient I have found I just don't like open comb with DE or SE. I tried a Lather Cather and got some really good shaves. I did have a hard time getting used to shape / size of head. I also tried a GEM Junior and recall liking it.

The biggest question in my mind is SE blades. I know I really like the Feathers used in One Blade. I hope to use that with a few of the vintage ones. Very excited!

I like Feather Pros better than Kai's for Cobra & Goose. Will also experiment with Supers.

The GEM blades are the biggest wild card, though I will definitely palm strop.

Just picked up a Eversharp Schick Deluxe Model G.  It looked nice with the off white handle and brass head.  Not sure how efficient, but will be a starting point.

Great line up you have going. Of the GEM's the bullet tip is probably my favorite. Get the GEM PTFE blades and you should have no issues. I get more shaves from them than I do my DE blades and have never had to strope one.

G's are middle of the road efficient in my experience. My favorite injector was always the E2.

Interesting. In limited research I thought L was middle, so I tried G. Will go look for an E now Smile

Thanks.  I have 10 GEM PTFE's on the way.  If they work I will get bulk.

That's what I did. Started small, loved the blade, bought a bunch! Smile

2 great looking E2's are now en route

That should do it. Can't wait for the testing to begin!

Ugg, the L's. I could shave better with a piece of notebook paper.

The least efficient that was still serviceable for me was an I2 that was my grandfathers. The G's were better. I think I had a HydroMagic G. But nothing ever came close to my E2. I'm waxing nostalgic here and thinking about pulling it out. But then there's that OneBlade that is calling to me to rule all my razors.

That E2 has just one blade.  Wink
