Afternoon Gents,

I am hoping you can help me out. I love a good sweeter scent and I have been looking for who has the best sweet almond scent/marzipan like soap.

I have tried a few and they are good but I am looking for really sweet.

I would be particularly interested in hear thoughts on:
RR P160
Mystic Waters Almond
Stirling Almond Creme

I have not tried the other two, but to my nose the P160 is relatively sweet compared to others like Harris and T&H, although not as sweet as vintage Crabtree & Evelyn.

We've got an Amaretto scent. Very almondy... Like the liqueur.

Brian, that's cool I haven't tried one of yours and have wanted to for some time. I might go for that after Christmas.

Maybe I should do an Almond review, grab five of the best and see which one wins.

Cheers mate, it's quite cheap and easily available in the UK so I might grab it to try.

Sweet Marzipan = Cella

Like, sweeter than Cella?

Saponeria Artigiana makes an excellent Italian-style soap that smells like a less-cloying Cella. Performs better too IMO. Unfortunately my face lights up whenever sweet almond oil hits it (though CRSW soaps don't seem to give me a problem).

I'm not too big on almond scents but my wife is crazy about them. I have a sample of ABC almond and my said it is perfect. It has that cherry scent to it which makes it more appealing to me as well.

Panama Boellis 1924 has a nice almond sent to my nose. If you can get a sample to try it might be worth looking into.

+1 for Boellis, just almond, no cherry/marzipan though. And a world-class soap to boot.

Cheers, Steve

I've been using Stirling almond creme. It is a very nice almond scent.  I use it at least twice per week

I think the ABC cream is what you're looking for. It's almost got a cherry cola scent along with the almond, to me at least. Performance is top class.

I haven't tried the shave soap, but the Stirling Almond Crème bath soap was very sweet, I liked it.
Have you tried Cella yet? It's a sweet almond

Antica Barbieria Colla (ABC) , Boellis Panama 1924 are both top notch almond scented soaps.  To me Cella has a distinct cherry scent along with almond, but it's price is so low that it's worth a try.

Not really a soap but Village Barber's Shaving Oil, which can be used as either a pre-shaving oil or in place of soap or cream, has a very pleasant sweet almond scent.  In fact, the first ingredient is sweet almond oil.  It's also a UK product that easy to get on both sides of the pond.

Valobra almond (in the plain cardboard box) is outstanding and the scent gave me and my wife severe marzipan cravings for a week.

This thread forced me to break out my old puck of Crabtree & Evelyn Sweet Almond Oil Soap again!  My what a nice scent and a very good shave.
