My wife is a hair stylist and did a haircut for Max, of Max Sprecher Razor Customs today. I don't know much about Straight razors so never heard of them, but they look really nice. Just wondered if anyone heard of his razors or if he might even be a member on here.

He is very big in the straight razor world.  He is one of the administrators over on SRP.  From what I've been told, he makes really nice razors, for a price.

Thanks Johnny. That's pretty cool. He is in the same community that we live in. If I decide to try a straight I will contact him for sure. It would be nice to be able to see all of them in person before deciding.

Nice razors if you like his style. But be prepared for sticker shock IMO.

I don't see any prices on any of his razors so didn't realize they were high priced. However, they are very beautiful handles so I assumed they wouldn't be cheap. I have no intention of buying a straight razor and may never buy one, but if I do decide to I would probably give his a look at least.

Max is a good friend and made me a custom razor for my birthday. He's a great guy and if you get a chance to talk to him you will not be dissapointed

I'm the proud owner of two of his razors, and he's rescaled a couple others for me. He's considered one of the top razor makers.

Definitely a following and yes, sticker shock but there are a lot of brands that share that trait for sure!

Wonderful creations - I think the price is inline with art/ artisan creation which they are imho!

In addition to custom razors, Max also does restorations of the vintage razors. I have bought a few in the past and they were excellent. The prices of most are somewhat lower, too, than the customs.

Gentlemen,

Max is a master razor maker. His blades have artistic designs with lean lines and functional characteristics. I had a Max Sprecher razor, but had to let it go because of the arthritis in my hands. When funds come in, I will definitely order another one from, although a wee bit smaller. Max is a great craftsman and I love his designs. Good stuff.
