That's great.  I've tried a number of different scuttles and finally settled on GPs for their unmatched combination of efficiency and beauty.

That's a beauty! I can't tell you how many times I have almost pulled the trigger on one of these....maybe the time is now.
Enjoy.

Thank you , Gentlemen!
Evanpar, Number six, yes, my wife is my greatest treasure!
Jr23, sorry to hear you broke yours. I fear that so much I plan to purchase a second one as soon as funds permit.
leonidas, LOL!
Johnny, I agree!
churchillafemme, the workmanship is fantastic. I looked at every scuttle I could find anywhere near the price of this one, but the design and build quality won out over them all. When my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas, it was a no brainer.
Thanks again, everyone. Hope you all have a fabulous Christmas!

Dinder1, thanks. I used the "bowl in a bowl" idea (hot water in a large bowl, place lather bowl in that) for a long time. It worked pretty well, and gave me the time and experience to know whether or not a scuttle would be something I'd appreciate.
I highly recommend Georgetown Pottery. This one is one of their "seconds", although the "flaw" took me a while to find, and is so benign that I cannot even photograph it. The savings were substantial over their "first quality". IMO it is the best deal you will fid in a shaving acuttle, and there are like 8 options for color scheme.

I have a Moss scuttle that I purchased many years ago but I love the idea of having the plug for the spout like your Georgetown has.
I have never been able to find the "seconds" section on the Georgetown site, any advise?

The Moss scuttles are right lovely as well. But yeah, I prefer the plug.
Type G12 seconds or G20 seconds in the search window on GP's site That's how I found it.

It's a great scuttle - enjoy!  I've been using mine every day - 2 minutes in the microwave and voila!  Hot lather for at least 4 passes, if needed.

Love your Hamada color scheme - gorgeous.

Awesome! Enjoy it! I love mine. What color did you get, or do you wanna wait and post when it shows up?

Niemander, thanks!
