I don't have a big bathroom with loads of counter space, so if I were to do the SOTD photos in the bathroom I would have to either balance everything on the sink or treat y'all to photos of the seat of my bog. In short, how about no?

I do however have a free shelf in the room next to the bathroom, so I set up a small area for photo shoots there. Nothing too fancy but then again I use my cell phone to take the pictures, so there is no reason to go overboard.

Two shelf brackets to give me a left and right limiter, a wooden board in the back, a bright lamp (originally halogen but switched to LED like almost every single lamp I own), and a recently added microfiber towel.

Crude, but functional.

Several examples in the SOTD threads and on my blog, but here is todays shave:

The trickiest part is to compose it so it fits in my cell phone camera...

Hans, you have given me an idea.  Now I need to find some empty shelf space.

Nice set up.

If you don't want to buy a photo box - just use a frosted white shower curtain.  Scott Kelby talks about this in his Digital Photography book.  There is another DYI site - http://cameraguyzack.blogspot.com/2009/0...fuser.html that shows how to make a diffuser.

Very nice Hans, one upgrade maybe using softbox like lightning. Direct light doesn't look so natural to me. Just an idea. Smile

I think your photos are terrific, Hans, and I like your setup. I hate to tell you where I take almost all of my photos--I placed a floor tile on the shelf on top of my cat's scratching post, which sits next to a window. I do have a light box, which I use when it's dark outside and I can't use the scratch post.
