I got a tube of 444 in the mail from Portugal, and used it for the first time yesterday. I wet my face with cold water after the shave, and squeezed a 1 inch long stripe out of the tube. Applied it to my wet face. I have to say, I was a little disapointed. I thought it was going to be a freezing experience, based on what I have read about it. But it wasn't. Perhaps my expectation was to high Smile

I'm keen to try the 444...

An inch long application sounds like a lot of product?

Have you tried combining a smaller amount with your favourite A/S?

Found that 444 needs to be used in moderation. After I save and use an alcohol based AS it just use a couple of dots on my cheeks and neck and rub it in. If you feel greasy you've used to much.

Not tried it with a spalsh. I've read some uses a peasize amount of 444, and some says that too little for the freezing effect. So I used a bit more the a peasize since I like the tingeling feeling Smile

Have a Proraso AS splash coming my way. Will think the 444 and the Proraso will be a good match?

If you want freezing, Osage is where it's at.

Is it the Osage Rub?

Better yet, and cheaper, Barbasol Pacific Rush AS.

444 is meant to be used with a splash. Put a pea sized amount in your hand, add your favorite splash and apply. It gives a nice cooling effect but not a freeze. If you want a freeze you need Osage Rub or the Penguin. YMMV

I was disappointed with 444 too. I like TSD's M-Bomb much better for a good freeze.

It's not a face freezer, but it works great on my skin.
