This was a little rough in spots but such an interesting and pretty razor to  make an effort at restoration worth while. The blade came up nicely without losing any detail.
The original Ivory Scales were cracked. I could have duplicated them in Ivory but Mammoth Ivory was chosen instead. Keeping with tradition I didn't use washers and keeping it natural I used black horn for the wedge.[Image: AnDWw1a.jpg][Image: LxYOM6F.jpg][Image: nHJvIh8.jpg][Image: d3oXBgx.jpg][Image: F5QxA6a.jpg][Image: fpY53M9.jpg][Image: WvdW7TE.jpg][Image: LTDNOVp.jpg]

I wouldnt't think it would make a come back but, nicely done Mycarver! It is really a eye candy after the transformation.

...yes, perhaps scrimshawed if it belonged to ishmael - but horror vacui would ruin the subtle fingerprint like landscape made up by the grains of this particularly fine and clean sheet of mammoth ivory.
