Original or Cheshire? Which scent do you prefer and why? Compare the two scents if you've used them both.

I notice both have a lavender component. In which of these is the lavender more pronounced?

If I want citrus, then I go original. I can pair that with something like Don Marco, Mike O/CW/BP or Calani Simply Soap and if I want that herbal or tea like scent, then I go Cheshire. I like both but when it comes to the soap, I prefer Cheshire while I think most prefer Seville.

I prefer Seville, but honestly I didn't care much for the Kyovu formula. It doesn't seem to sink in properly and always straddles the gap between a splash and a balm. The texture was too weird for me.

Original for me, very refreshing and citrusy.

At first, I thought I had got a dud bottle of it because it had the lotion cream residue feel and it didn't absorb like a splash. But after a few more uses and looking up some info, I realized it was normal. I am a fan of Kyovu now as the ingredient list is quite a nice rendition of a balm splash without any real no-no's in the formula. I just wish it was offered in a few more scents. I think I have all 4 of the scents. Cheshire is my favorite but also use Roam frequently.

I wasn't worried about it being a dud, though I did find the texture odd. It's not bad or ineffective as an aftershave, but it's just not my preference. I tried a few samples: The Seville (original) and Bay Rum are my preference, and I found the Cheshire to be much too weird-smelling for me to enjoy it (though I thought that the smell of Cheshire soap was nice).

Does this help with absorption on your skin? I do this with Trumper's Skin Food and it seems to help. Skin Food has a similar consistency.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give this a shot tomorrow - I still have a couple of Kyovu samples somewhere in my den.

I put a little water on my face for all balms, and it sounds like that one is sort of like a balm. A lot of brands recommend doing such actually.

Really? I've never noticed that on the directions for most of mine. My only two true balms (currently) are Acqua di Parma and Antica Barbieria Colla, and right now I can't imagine using either with water already on the face.
