Hi,

I was introduced to DE shaving by Kickstarter. In the end decided to back the Rockwell Razor (seemed decent with their second attempt) and opt out of the Beluga Shave (Dodged a bullet there).

Has been into wet shaving for a year and i seemed to favour vintage gillette over modern razor. Can't argue with razor that are older than myself. If they have been in used for that long, they must be good.

Right now have enough razors/blades to outlast me but would need to catch up on soaps / aftershaves. If capitalism were to end tomorrow, i can go hungry but i cant go unshaven.

In additions, these are the shaving gear available locally in Singapore. Mostly concentrated at 2 retail outlet which are more supermarket than shaving gear specialist. Some pictures. Note that each of these items doesn't cost over 10 SGD ( i believe) which translate to 7 USD.

Omega Brushes. Most expensive of the brushes at 6 SGD/ 4.5? USD

additional images

Tabac Shaving Cream/ Aftershave + Old Spice Aftershave + 4711 Aftershave + Nivea Aftershave(both type) + Lucido Aftershave. I believe the aftershave are maximum 10 SGD but the shaving cream at at 8 SGD.
Aftershavesi mages

Shaving Cream. There really isnt shaving soap in Singapore. There's an old spice shaving cream that i only too a close up of. Less than 7 SGD for any variety i believe.
Shaving Cream images

Blades
Supermax Platinum@ 12 SGD for 200, Gillette Super Stainless at 15 SGD for 100,American Shave blade at SGD 10 for 100 there's Astra Green (100) as well but out of stock when i visit(Haniffa). I didnt get any shots but at Haniffa there's packs of 25 for Croma/Supermax/Astra Green/some Lord variety/ Lasco/ Zorrik (i think i saw zorrik before). Razor wise. There's shogun/Lord razor as well quite cheap at 3-4 bucks for shogun and 6.50 for Lord's. Should have Rimei's as well.
Blades images

Filarmonica straight razor handle (uses double edge blade). No idea what this is but 12 SGD.
Filarmonica

Altoids and memory lane powder (for me personally)! If you want these 2 stock Yardley's powder/soap as well.
Random

Altoids. Seemed there's a few varieties at Mustaffa if you care to walk around but maybe hard to find.
Snake brand prickly heat powder: Every Singaporean male HAVE to serve 2 years as part of national service. This is the recommended powder to use for powder bath because it's cooling. What's a powder bath? When we are in the jungle since there's no proper bath, you just pour ALOT of powder on you when you change clothes. Really cooling.

Note: Apologies for the picture quality. Was just trying to snap some picture with my phone.

If anyone want directions to either/both just let me know and i try to post a map.
Both are located in Little India which is a tourist attraction anyway.

If capitalism ended today we would simply create another, hopefully more stable system of exchange. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks.

Will try to post map to the 2 shops around weekend.
One of them is 24 hours and the item cost roughly half to a dollar more for comparable item.

Welcome to the Nook. If you're in Singapore that makes us practically neighbours - I'm in Australia!

If you are taking public transport.I would suggest taking the Purple/North East Line and exiting at Farrer Park. It's just beside a shopping mall, so if you want, when you head back/reach you can always grab a bite there. Alternatively, you can eat at some of the Indian shop around Little India.

Walk from Exit I. And you can hit 1 to 3 which are all owned by Mustaffa (So they all stock the SAME STUFF).

1) Enter the Area marked Serangoon Plaza. Entrance would be the furthest from where you are based on my direction. Look to your left for Entrance. There's a staircase, please proceed to level 2. Locate the Cashier nearby. Behind the cashier, there's the shaving gear. Crowd: Not that much.

2) Exit Serangoon Plaza and continue walking forward. Take a left turn where you see the first small road. This is marked Mustaffa Centre Outside the extrance, there are alot of bags for safekeeping + Some security-like guys. Enter here and walk straight down. See the row of cashier roughly in the middle? The shaving gear is just before said cashier. Crowd: This is the most crowded of their outlet.

3) Exit Mustaffa Centre. Walk further down first entrance and walk straight down. This is Mustaffa Centre Extension. From (2) you can reach here via the 2nd floor. Highly complicated though. See the row of cashier roughly in the middle? The shaving gear is just before said cashier.
Admittedly, this might be the hardest to locate. Even i have problem sometimes trying to locate them. Crowd: Lesser than both, alot are probably lost in store..

4) Haniffa. Go all the way back to Serangoon Plaza, Instead of going back towards the train, go way further down. Locate Dunlop Street. Then walk into Dunlop Street. Haniffa is the one on your left. Smaller in size than Mustaffa and not 24 hours as well. Prices here are slightly cheaper.

Note: on the map, they correspond according to the stars mark 1-4. Mustaffa's are the Red route and to reach Haniffa's is the Purple route.

Nice. Did the cashier give you a weird look?

Nice, it's just a few hours swim away. Been wanting to try Shaver Heaven but unfortunately, i haven't been able to justify the drawer space necessary to make more buys.
