My latest acquisition a Gillette Aristocrat Junior 1952 all Aluminium, including a Case all for £11.80 (17.20 USD).

Yes £11.80 and that included the Postage. Think I got myself a real bargain, off Ebay.

Are these rare? Would make the find even better.  Biggrin Biggrin

Looks really nice, It would benefit from some cleaning and polishing though. I like the case a lot!

It's a very good shaver, and seriously underpriced, IMO; the utilitarian design hides a beautifully designed razor. One of the lightest razors ever. It should be easy to determine the general value on eBay.

$17.20 is a really good value.

The Base Plate has no brassing, and it gives a very close shave. But found it a little to aggressive for daily use for me. All in all these Razors are good value for money. A cheap addition to anyone's collection.

Is it a solid base plate or the diamond base plate? Any chance of a picture?

Very nice. I only have the one with a solid bottom and I lije it very much.
I have no idea what the initial producion numbers look like but I believe Jr Aristocrats are more rare than say HD's and less rare than Brit Aristocrats.
Enjoy!
Edit: I missed the all aluminum part. You don't see that many of those, plus most go under the radar as their sellers don't know much about it.
