Just got this in today from Fendrihan (Canada). There line of all stainless steel razors (4 models) made in Taiwan. This model is called the "Scientist" and is matte finished. The head looks cast and the handle machined. Nice weight at 108 grams and 4" long. The head is duel (open/closed comb). The blade aligns perfectly and the handle locks into the head very nicely. The only thing remaining is the shave which I will start tomorrow morning. The price is great at $39.95 + shipping to the USA.

Looks like a cheap intro for Stainless world. How about the head? What it looks like?
Enjoy it Slantman!

I'm curious to hear your thoughts.  They look nice, but I'm not sure they would be aggressive enough for my tastes.  This looks like a good candidate to replace the hole in the market that Weber left though.

Wow Slantman, packaging and the razor both look great! Please post your thoughts once you have given it a few runs. I also like the name of the model Smile.

Other reviews say the closed comb side is mild but the open comb is more aggressive. Will learn more tomorrow. Another thing I noticed is the bottom plate's finish is very similar to the Weber. Fit and finish are very nice at this price point.

Pretty nice? How is the blade alignment and is there any kind of chatter or wave in the blade?

He said the blade alignment was perfect, however I just noticed the price... At 40 bucks the blade could chatter up a storm while doing the wave at a baseball stadium and I'd be satisfied with it. Awesome value!

Must have missed the alignment part. I have had my share of chatting razors. I won't sacrifice quality just because it's less expensive. Wind up paying for it in the long run.

Also a good point. That was a bit of an exaggeration on my part. I probably wouldn't either, but $40 seems like a great price for such a solid looking razor. I doubt it shaves badly, and even if it does, it would make a magnificent paperweight!

They use a slot system to hold the blade even on both sides. One of my criteria for judging how well a razor performs is how long the shave lasts. If my face feels smooth and close after 12 hours that is a good thing. Will see Wink

It does look nice so I am genuinely interested. It's a 3 piece to boot so that makes it even more appealing to me. I look forward to more comments/reviews on it.

Indeed, but is it more beautiful? Spend lavishly on paperweights and your papers will thank you by remaining stationery (see what I did there? Biggrin).

The Sharpologist guy said it was very aggressive on both sides. I'm hoping to hear otherwise from someone as I was very interested in this razor before heading his review.

I've got and seen some some darn beautiful rocks. Don't let them fool you. They can be some lookers!

I'm curious how much. Was he talking 2011 R41 aggressive or something less? Wish there was a good comparison.

I have the Adventurer and IMO the SB side is slightly more aggressive than my NEW SC and the open comb side is  below my Fatip in aggressiveness. No blade alignment issues and with a GSB blade very little chatter. I like the razor
