Greetings everyone!  After extensive search I found the only vendor to have in stock Plisson HMW TWO Band . That is JJ Atkinson in Vancouver Canada. I was looking for size 16 and unfortunately  for me they have only size 20 , so if some of you like large knots don't wait. Probably this is NOS brushes, because I was told  right now Plisson don't have any of two bands quality hair, so therefore is not possible to order any custom brush from them. With JJ Atkinson permission I would like to share the photograph he sented to me. First from left  is size 12, then 2 brushes size 16,and 3 off coveted Two band size 20.
If anyone know or can help , Im still looking to find NOS HMW size 12 or 16 ,so the Quest continue![Image: aPRYJCo.jpg]

Those brushes are absolutely magnificent! Do you find that the two band in HMW are superior to the three band? I've been thinking about picking up a HMW for some time.

Plisson brushes, although beautiful, have never appealed to me.  Their diameter:loft ratio is too high for someone like me who likes scrub and backbone.  I do enjoy the pictures though.

Very nice collection. Plisson would be my only natural brush, if I can afford 20 someday.

my 16 hmw is my most cherished brush I own .  it is simply different than anything I own.  a different face feel  expensive as hell and worth the wait to get it. Atkinson is a great family owned company by the way

I strongly doubt you will find a 2 band size 12. I was of the opinion 2 band only appeared in their larger brushes.

Here are my horn HMW Plissons...

Ben I owned a plisson 2-band about 2 years ago. Had to custom order through them. One of the few brushes I really regret selling.

Forgot to add it was a lovely horn in size 12. Tremendous backbone and excellent flow through.

Looks like $601 for size 20 high mountain white with horn handle at JJ Atkinson.

The Maserati of shaving brushes???

But at least they appear to have three according to the OP

Wouldn't the two-band model mitigate some concerns about scrub/backbone?

Yes Plisson are traditionally very high lofted. The hair is similar to Simpson Manchurian in that the individual fibres are thicker and stronger than average, however the knots are not as densely stuffed. The Plisson does offer sensation and feedback against the face, but with a little pressure the knot also splays tremendously. The 2 band knots possess more rigidity than the 3 band, hence my earlier statement that the 2 band (which incidentally Plisson once considered the inferior grade) were generally used in larger brushes.

Funny how things change based on taste and demand. The 2-band is seen as superior by many who are into the Plisson brand. It reminds me of how lobster used to be cheap food that was often served in prisons, and how prisoners used to complain loudly about being fed such cuisine.

A few years ago I wanted a 2 band size 14 ivory. Here it is with a size 12 HMW, note the size 14 is EW and not HMW...

The allure with 2 band Plisson is that its generally an older brush. Many claim the current Plisson knots are not as good as the old...
