Scent has become all important for me of late (probably because there are so many excellent soap makers out there that performance is going to be good no matter what for anything that I try).

So what's your favorite soap scents ?  Maybe your top 3?

Top 3 (newer scents) for me:

Catie's Bubbles Inspirazione di Parma
Beaver Woodright Queen Anne's Revenge
Jabonman Rosa Bourbon

I'm a sucker for anything inspired by creed aventus. About the best I've tried is stirling executive man. Never tried creed shave soap though .

Really like the barrister and mann latha blue or aqua as well. I always liked aqua smelling colognes but never knew the scent until I got into shaving.

Strop shoppe barber shop. I like Austin and baker street as well but Barbershop may be my favorite. IMO iit's about as barbershop scented as seville by barrister and man. More of a fresh cologne type smell to me but I love it anyway.

Wife loves Aventus so I stick with it most of the time and may of went a little over board as I have the stirling bath soap, stirling shave soap, stirling aftershave balm, fine platinum as well as the real aventus cologne , and a few other colognes inspired by Aventus but I challenge anyone to let me spray both and you tell me which is which.

Favorite new scents have been Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore (SMN Tabacco Toscano) and CB Inspirazione di Parma (AdP Colonia).

If someone did a Colonia Assoluta-inspired soap, that'd be my 2016 summer jam.

Czech and Speake Oxford and Cambridge

SdM original

MdC fougere (if there could be only one scent)

Runner up, MdC original

Many newer artisan scents can be fun, but maybe not what you would want to shave with every day for the rest of your life. The above scents I could do, though variety is truly the spice of soap.

Cheers, Steve

Quite an interesting thread, thanks to the OP for posting. It seems there may be a much tighter consensus on fragrance versis performance!

Cheers, Steve

My SDM LE has blossomed with use. It has a very invigorating pepper smell that pairs well with my breakfast meal's aroma.

Cologne Russe would definitely be in mine, except that I only have the aftershave and not the soap (due to it's limited edition status). I'll get it in the new Glissant base later this year.

I bought a few pucks, but I like the regular base more, so I'm okay with it. I do really like the glissant base too though

Interesting! I think I'd probably prefer the regular base if my water was softer. The Glissant base really shines in my hard water, improving performance and making the soap easier to lather.

Either way I'd love to have that scent in a soap. The aftershave is awesome.

I find the rose to really shine through in the soap, where in the aftershave it is hidden a little bit.

I do love rose, but I don't pick up much at all in the aftershave. The aftershave is mostly about leather and spices to my nose.
