So last week I scooped up a BRW handle off the swap & shop.

I had a particular bit of madness in mind for my favorite English Ever Ready...  So the pictures aren't great but I'm tired and don't feel like taking more.  So I'll share these with everyone just the same.  The head is actually bronze in color, although that's not showing all that well.

Those handles aren't easy to come by. Add that to a special SE head and there is something magical here.

Please let us know how it shaves for you.

Amazing work! Maybe you can add this kind of handle to your store?

Unfortunately the maker of this handle passed away a few years ago. He was one of the first to make aftermarket razor handles to my knowledge and his creations are highly prized and sought after.

That is sad to hear, I didn't know. I've just visited his website. Sad

That's what makes BRW handles so special, beyond the fact that they were awesome to start with.  There's just a finite number from a man no longer with us.  It's unlikely that handle will leave my ownership in my lifetime.  Who knows what the kids will do with it.

If I get tired of using it with the Ever Ready, I'll move it to a DE without hesitation.  For now, I'll use it like that for awhile as a tribute to a great artisan.

By the way, it shaves great, I will probably move that head back to the English handle it came with in the long run and tap out a 1914 Ever Ready head to use with that handle.

Putting that handle on a 1914 head sounds perfect!

Very lovely!

Are you using a section of threaded rod to connect?

I tried with one of my lather catchers and the threads were different.  Undecided

I know I can work something out, but just haven't found the time...

I was fortunate myself to have commissioned Bob to make several razors and two brushes for me in the past. I've acquired a few more since his passing and cherish them all. Some of the most prized pieces in my collection. I especially love the TTO he made from a Slim Twist and the various ebony items of his I have. I also have a very similar handle as yours with a Cocobolo knob but the handle has the 'Deluxe' lines cut lengthwise. The metal handles with the magnets in the knobs are the pinnacle of BRW handles I think. Sometimes I mix and match them to change the weight, balance, or just the looks.
