In my haul yesterday, I picked up the tin as shown below. Just an empty tin: I liked the look of it.

On impulse I looked through a box of assorted blades (we all have them, right?) and BINGO! The exact blade.

Researching a little more though my motley crew of old razors in a box somewhere, what do I find? Yep, the RIGHT razor. Astonishing, really.

It all dates from 1943 (I researched), so a civilian WWII issue in Australia (and probably also New Zealand).

Anyway, all, this is for the records. I must say I love it when these things all come together so nicely. Enjoy the pictures Smile

Made in WW2 with the Imperial Japanese navy and airforce being pushed back by Wirraways and Boomarangs built of wood a few hundred miles north!

Great work! It's nice when things just come together. That razor looks worth trying (not sure about the old blade though Tongue ).

Great match.

What are the odds that you can find the exact blade amongst your assorted blade stash.

It's getting unwieldy. I am running out of secret stashing places. Wife is getting very suspicious Smile

You can set up a secret stash across the pond, I can arrange some place in Istanbul. It's very popular for super secret spy movies! Biggrin

I love Turkey. I love the Turks. One of my favourite places in the whole world. There's a GREAT new Turkish restaurant opened not far from me "Stanbuli" and it is absolutely superb. No çorba on the menu, though Smile

Nice set. Is that handle as small in person as it looks in the pictures?

It is, yes. It's about 6.75cm, just over 2.5 inches.

Interesting to see the British identity. We hear about Australia contemplating removing the Monarch of the UK as head of state post Elizabeth II, renewed struggles for first people's rights and all the new immigrants changing the demographics of OZ. Would you like Mel Gibson back? 24

I once owned a LITHGOW made SMLE rifle ( Australian .303 Enfield) before they regained popularity. It had been 'in stores' before being surplused out.
I started looking it over and opened the brass buttplate trapdoor  where cleaning kits were kept. I pulled out a curled up photo of some rifleman's
GF with the address of some remote station. I wrote and they were still there! I returned the photo, but sadly couldn't send his rifle. I love connecting collectables to people if possible.
