You may take it to some fabricatior or a glass  cutting /designing shop. That's what I would have done in your case.

I have a small round container in the drawer.  When it gets full, I empty it in a waste cardboard and put it in the trash.  A plus is that its brass so its rustproof.

Having filled up the third pill bottle in about six years, I decided a better solution was needed:

At 1.5 litre (approx 3.2 US / 2.6 UK pint, or 1000 tablespoons, 0.01 barrel (oil), 0.006 hogshead) it should last me decades. It's delightfully ugly, sturdy, near unable to open once it's sealed, and can be handed in for safe disposal if or when I manage to fill it up.

I made a blade bank out of a plastic sunflower seed jar. I do like the glass block idea though.
