What to do with your old canned goo... ?

Available in a can since the 50's and now no longer considered "the best thing since sliced bread" by many a traditional wet shaving enthusiast,

you'll be pleased to know there are some other proven uses for it:

1. Silence a squeaky door

Spray on the hinges - no oil required.

2. Waterless soap

No sink, no worries. Apply shaving cream, rub and towel off.

3. Chrome polish

Restore shine to your faucet by rubbing with shaving cream and then wipe off with a damp cloth.

4. Carpet cleaner

Blot spill with paper towel, apply shave cream (NOT gel versions) and wipe away with a damp sponge.

5. Defogger

For streak free mirrors, rub shaving cream on the mirror and then wipe off with damp paper towel.

6. Painter's friend

Paint is hard to remove from hands, washing with shaving cream (for about a minute) will get the job done.

7. Stain remover

Stained shirt, shaving cream works as a pre-laundry stain remover.

And...

I guess you could always shave with it too!

I know it was bad but I bumped it down to my 15 year old son. He's already complaining that he wants to wet shave!

Is this a list published somewhere?  If it does all those things maybe it's not so good for your skin.

Sound like fun, but also dangerous.

I gave all of mine to friends who still use the old stuff. Incidentally, I've been able to convert quite a few people to DE shaving, but they are usually resistant for a while.

Same here . I had some dove shave gel and wife was like iI'll use it it smells nice. I used it to clean the glass until my son grabbed it and thought it'd be funny to draw on me when I had my casts on. Well my 2 year old saw him do it and up until I left if I was asleep and she wasn't she was trying to put something on my face.  Being that I'm world's greatest dad (hat and t shirt to prove it). Finally I submitted and pretended to be asleep and I let her use the whole can ,literally on me. I was gonna shave with it since I'm not one to waste things when she got through. The stuff really is that bad.

I did no know how many useful things you can do with it. I was only using as defogger.
Everyday you learn something new.
