Hi all!

i just got an arko stick that i have aired for roughly 1 week plus.
First few day it was like wearing a citronella patch around my room, it probably lowered the dengue risk for my area for a while.

Now it has mellowed abit and while the scent seems ok (pre lather), i still associate it to mosquito patch unfortunately. Just trying to find ideas how do you guys use your arko?

1) On its one, pre air
2) On its one, post air
3) With another soap/cream to create a super lather
4) Mashed + including essential oils
5) You don't use Arko as you cant get past the scent as well.

Looking to get ideas.

I use it on its own, post airing out these days, but straight from the wrapper when it was new. You can't beat it for the price Smile

Box number 5 unfortunately.  I tried, but couldn't come to grips with the smell. Gifted.

I don't mind the scent at all and just unwrap it and use.

To me is smells like an old bar of Ivory Soap.  I grate my sticks and press them in to a bowl.  One of the best shaving soaps I have.

Have yet to use an Arko product. Not currently in my plans to do so to be honest.

Something is best left untested

You have a oily skin Johnny? Arko dries my face out.

I agree with Johnny.  It just has the classic soap scent to me.  Being pliable, I don't grate it, but just smoosh it into an Old Spice mug.

It is definitely one of the best soaps I have and very hard to beat for the price.

Actually, I have very dry skin but the Arko does not bother me for some reason.

TVB shaving has 1000ml of Vitos (probably about 900g) for 7.98-9.23 USD exVat, 1 kg of Cella is 13.74 USD exVat. Shipping will bump that up a bit but would seem to be cheaper?

Cheers, Steve

add more water to your lather. It dried my skin out also until I started hydrating the lather more on my face. I like to use it and MWF, during the cold Winter months. Smells like Ivory Soap to me too. Mine sit's out in the open atop of my Col. Conk Traditional Boot Scuttle.

Yeah, it's a water hog, but it's very good for the price. It has absolutely no "good for the skin" stuff in it, but it does what it does quite nicely. If someone can't lather ARKO they should just give up; it's that easy to use.

I don't use it in stick form but I grate it, add a bit of water to get it to mold easily, and then form it into a puck in a container. I like the scent but clearly there are those folks who don't and I  can understand that.

I don't use it as I find other soaps, better and much lovelier in the scent department. Shy

I never understood the scent issue thing either. The only natural ingredient in it I think is the Tallow. The Glycerine comes about during the making of the soap I believe. I think Phil disliked it so much he quit selling it for awhile.

I smash it in a mug. Use it and let it air out until next time. Not my favorite scent but I'm not offended by it.

I like  Arko, but use the puck and not the stick.

I tried to sniff it for a few minutes and I couldn't figure out the lemon but somehow the scent is growing on me.

At the price arko are selling for, it's worth just buying and knowing. Worst come to worst I can mix it with creams that don't give as good a lather. Worst still, I can always pass it on.
