Just considering this brush.
Any differences between the manchurian and super? Does the manchurian bloom as large a super?
I love the Chubby 2 manchurian brush knot but don't like the handle. The way I see it, the manchurian hair really keeps it together and keeps the knot tighter compared to best.

I am not sure if I would like anything bigger than that knot but would not mind the chubby 3 as long as the knot does not bloom too big.

No, the Manchurian will bloom a good deal less than the Super (30-40% less)

The Chubby 3 Super has a huge bloom.

So roughly speaking - the chubby 3 manchurian would bloom as much as chubby 2 super?

Signs011, and, personally, I think the Chubby 2 Supers bloom a tad more than the Chubby 3 Manchurians. I don't own the latter ones, but I have tried one and I didn't find the bloom to be excessive, at all and more 'manageable' than my Chubby 2 Supers. Of course, this would be dependant on the lofts of the individual brushes.

Manchurians bloom less than Supers. I think that the CH2 Manchurian in bloom looks close to the CH3 in Super after it has been on the shelf for a few weeks.

Best has the biggest bloom.

The 2 Manchurians on the top were recently used before this pic, the CH3 super did not get much used (before it was sold)

Yes Super will bloom more than Manchurian regardless of size.

Just took my Chubby 2 (TWO) Super and compared it to my Chubby 3 (THREE) Manchurian, and the CH2 Super blooms 10-15% larger than the CH3 Manchurian does.

You are definitely going to enjoy those brushes, but that Super is going to be extremely dense and you'll be going through a great deal of product. Thumbup

I honestly hope that the brush does not end up being significantly larger than ch2. I have had ch2 in best, super and manchurian and would not mind having anything a little larger than those.

(01-24-2016, 11:10 PM)Don\t suppose you'd be up to trading one of those BB Chubby 2 for a Shavemac 177 Silvertip? Unlikely but I have shave brush envy looking at the picture.  Wonderful collection.  jamesrobson5 Wrote: Manchurians bloom less than Supers. I own all variants of badger brushes in Simpson Chubby 2.

For what it's worth here is my view on their actual bloom size. Take into account that my CH2 Silvertip 2-band is bulb like in shape, thus will tend to bloom less if it was a fan shape, my other CH2's are all more fan shape in appearance, thus will bloom more, than if they were bulb shaped.

From largest bloom to smallest bloom:

1. Chubby 2 Super 3-band.
2. Chubby 2 Best 3-band.
3. Chubby 2 Manchurian 2-band
4. Chubby 2 Silvertip 2-band

If the CH2 Silvertip 2-band were more fan shaped it would clearly have a larger bloom than the Manchurian.

The CH3 is significantly larger. Be prepared. It's huge. Here is a comparison shot of a CH1, 2 and 3:
