I'm in the process of ordering some brushes for Doug Korn. Wow he makes some great looking brushes. I'm having a hard time picking what type of knot.

I like all three badger, boar, and snythetic. Of those who have his brushes and knots, which did you decide on and why?

Thanks for the help in advance

I tried a lot of brushes. I have some Rooneys, M&F, Simpson, Plisson snythetic and badger, and SOC Boar. Never had any experience with the Omega boar knots or TGN badger. Does this help?

Tim, unfortunately, I won't be much help regarding Doug's knots, but I know you'll enjoy his handles, very much, as I have quite a few. He is such a talented and professional individual. Shy
I have other knots in the handles that I ordered from him.
Good luck and I look forward to seeing your new brushes in your SOTD pics. Thumbsup

Celestino what knots did you use? Your SOTD pictures are one of the reasons I wanted to get a brush from Doug

Thanks, Tim and that is very kind of you to say.
I have had to extract most of the knots from other handles that I did not care for. The majority of them are WSP 2-Band knots: 4 Manchurians, 2 Original 2-Bands, 3 Stubby 2-Bands. I also had a Shavemac Silvertip 2-Band knot sent to me from a friend that is in my Cobalt Blue C7 handle.

Depending on what you like in a knot, I would consider going with a Shavemac Silvertip 2-Band knot, or the Epsilon 2-Band 55mm lofted ones.
Good luck.

You may want to try a 26mm TGN Finest bulb.  Excellent knots at a reasonable price.  If  you've never tried the Shavemac silvertip 2-band, it's a superb knot but substantially more expensive than the TGN.

I would also add the wonderful Envy White knots to your list, as they are really outstanding and quite reasonably priced.

That's a very nice looking brush.  How does that knot feel?

Doug is a great guy to work with... I agree with the others and recommend one of each Smile

These are synthetic and TGN. The TGN has great face feel and the synthetic is one of if not my favorite synthetic. Either way I believe you will get a great brush and if on the fence Doug will work with you on selecting both the right knot as well as optimum setting.

The knot is dense, with strong backbone and scrub.  This brush has a permanent place in my rotation.  The handle and knot are comparable with brand name, high end brushes I own.
