Thank You Harvey do you know the shaving characteristics of each one as far as I know they are adjustable but describe how each shaves.

For some people the "Fat boy" is the holy grail but because they are adjustable the only difference is the handle width and length..perhaps weight but age wise the black handle is the newest and possibly the most comfortable to hold and for me that is the one I prefer...start out with a 2 or 3 and for those razors I prefer a 5 setting ...best to adjust the setting with the bottom nob not completely tight...then gently tighten after choosing your setting.

I have shaved with both the fatboy and slim. Honestly very little difference in the shave experience since the head of the razor is identical. The only difference between the two, as mentioned before, is the thickness of the handle. So it's more of a personal preference... I will add that the fatboy is more desirable because they were only produced for a limited of time. Also, there are a few different variables in fatboy. The one you have would be the most common of the fatboys but still very desirable. I attached some pictures below of some different variables. I can't say much about the black beauty since I have never owned one but I can't imagine there is much of a difference other than, again, the handle and overall weight which goes back to personal preference. Anyways, I personally prefer Gillette adjustable razor over any other to include modern ones. They are just built to last and it's like have multiple razors in one. All around great razors. Hope that help in some way, have a good one.

Those are good looking razors. I should have never let go of my adjustable. Now I need to keep an eye out for one of these fatboys.

Well, those are nice razors but I don't own them, those are just pictures I found online to show you the difference. I've been wanting one for a while but those specific razors go for a couple of hundred... Not looking to spend that much at this time... Maybe some day...
