I would love to hear from you, yes YOU, what you plan to buy mostly in 2016 !

Is it pretty much all over the place or do you plan to hit a certain area/category where you feel you need to concentrate most of your purchases ?

For instance I sold most of my 60+ new DE razors in 2014, going back to my still trusty Fusion razors, of course Fusion razors with exquisite handles, but Fusion none the less.

But I found a new love for DE razors, using them for 2.nd and 3.rd pass, Fusion for 1.st pass.

So originally I thought 2016 would be the year where I got my 7-day Simpson Chubby 3 Manchurian set, but now realise it will have to wait until 2017, since 2016 will be the year where I get all the DE razors I want to own.

Some I already have owned, and then sold, some will be new in my den.

So 2016 will be my year of the DE razor for sure. I already bought 10-12 DE razors in January, some were rather cheap like Edwin Jagger DE89L Extra Long, some middle range like Ikon B1 slant, some were expensive like Pils and Feather ASD2 with stands, upcoming is the entire Above The Tie 8-head collection and the 3 ATT handles. Later on this year, 4 Wolfman will be added to the den.

What are you focussing on in 2016 ?

Great thread Claus!

I plan to buy a Wolfman in titanium (assuming my name comes up), another silvertip badger brush, and a few top performing soaps and creams that I've been exploring on the luxury soaps/creams thread.

Going back to my straights. Aiming to purchase another Tim Zowada. On the shaving brush front, I have high hopes for a Paladin.

My plan to buy nothing failed before it even started. I'm getting a custom handle for a Shavemac 2 band Silvertip and a Varlet Mega (patiently waiting on the wait list). Also, maybe another straight razor (eyeing that Swedish Steel).

Same to the first part.  But I plan to win!  If spending an entire year without purchasing any new shave gear counts as winning around here.

This year I plan on reducing my current gear by about 50%. I will still purchase brushes this year, but they will be either custom or one of a few that I am still searching for or already have on order.  I may purchase a soap and aftershave or two...but maybe not.
No razors this year period.
My motto this year is Quallity over quantity and to really enjoy more of what I already have.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as a lot of members, 2016 will be the year of consolidation. I have alot of equipment which I'm 'OK' with using, but I don't 'love' to use, I plan on only keeping the things that I really enjoy using and selling off the rest.

I will still make the odd exception of purchasing a few new soaps/brushes/razors, but I'm going to set a goal of not purchasing anything new until something in the den leaves - so essentially a 'one in, one out' rule.

Hoping to buy nothing, thus far I have FAILED!!!!

An ATT atlas, a feather ASD2, an NTS straight , 3 creams 5 soaps and I spent the day looking at straight razors.

I am done with soaps and creams for a while but I am sure there is a brush and another straight to purchase yet.

The only brushes I would buy from here on out would be: any of the fabled Rooney Finest that may fall into my reach, any Simpson Emperor that's too good a deal to pass up, any M&F XL in Finest that's too good a deal to pass up.
I'm set on razors, I'm set on vintage blades (at least for 25 years or so), I'm set on soaps and creams for years and years ( disclaimer; But I reserve the right to decide otherwise at any moment)

I'll likely continue to consolidate, however I envisage some further hardware purchases (Wolfman, CH2). I already have too much software stockpiled, so I'll endeavour to put a dent in it before acquiring more...

I survived a year long restraint last year. Once January hit, I splurged on a few brushes and some software. I'm loving my new toys after the long slog. I may pick up a few more items hear and there, but I'm not looking to bloat up my inventory after spending so much time reducing it last year.
